The service has become a leader among the platform for online video conferencing. However, it has faced some challenges.
At first, people do not understand how to communicate to make dialog more productive as a casual manner does not work online. Secondly, interlopers who "zoom-bombing" other users' online meetings are a real pain in the neck and there is a need to deter them.
"We have strived to provide you with uninterrupted service and the same user-friendly experience that has made Zoom the video-conferencing platform of choice for enterprises around the world, while also ensuring platform safety, privacy, and security," Zoom CEO Eric Yuan says. "However, we recognize that we have fallen short of the community's—and our own—privacy and security expectations."
We have been working around the clock to ensure that all of our users—new and old, large and small—can stay in touch and operational," Yuan said.
There are some useful tips that can help you to tune your business, educational, or personal communication.
1. Don't make meetings public. Require your guests and participants to use a password. Manager can also make participants first appear in the waiting room and be admitted one by one.
2. Invite with care. Avoid sharing links to your meeting on social media. Email or text them to participants only.
3. Limit screen sharing. "Host Only" option is here to prevent others from posting video.
4. Once all invited persons are in, Lock the door. You need to click the Participants tab at the bottom of the Zoom window to get a pop-up menu, then choose the Lock Meeting option.
5. Use silence features. You can disable video for participants and mute an individual or all attendees.
6. Cut out the chatter. Disable the ability to text chat during the session to prevent the delivery of unwanted or disturbing messages.
7. A farewell to uninvited. Hosts can remove a participant - just put the mouse over the name and choose "Remove option".
8. Preparation. Make sure participants have the latest version of Zoom's software, which was updated in January. That update added meeting passwords by default and disabled a feature allowing users to randomly scan for meetings to join.
We hope these guides will help you to improve communication with your colleagues in cyberspace and improve your productivity.
