Apple postpones anti-tracking tool debut

Apple decided to delay a new privacy feature in the next version of its iPhone operating system. The main objective is to make it more difficult for app developers to track people online.

The decision has come upon consideration that the new privacy feature in iOS 14 can devastate many apps. It is not the right time when they are already struggling amid a coronavirus-triggered recession.

Nevertheless, Apple claims it is not being reluctant to follow the commitment to protect the privacy of its customers.

"We want to give developers the time they need to make the necessary changes" to apps and advertising models, the company said in a statement.
